But over here in my own blog, something special is happening ...
Cordelia Rabbit decided to throw a tea party for her teddy bear friends. Jeremy and Olivia are quite small bears. Cordelia told them they could have their very own tea cups to drink out of, but she would have to be the one to pour the tea since they are just too little.
Jeremy is a serious little bear. He likes to stand up properly even when he's at a tea party.
Olivia is much more mischievous. She was having fun rolling around on the floor and pretending to be a ballerina. Cordelia had to tell her to settle down and drink her tea before it got cold.
When it was time for the dessert plate to come out, nobody was surprised to see it loaded up with blueberries! Everyone knows that teddy bears simply ADORE blueberries with their tea.
But Cordelia Rabbit said she would prefer something a little bit crunchier.
Olivia thought maybe she would try the radish too!
It was certainly crunchy, but it tasted hot and burnt her tongue.
She decided that teddy bears really do prefer blueberries after all!
If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise,
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise,
For ev'ry bear that ever there was will gather there for certain because
Today's the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic!
The china teddy bears used in this "Tea Time Tuesday" vignette are very special to me. They were given to me by one of my brothers when I was only 4 years old. Originally, there were 3 little bears but unfortunately, one of them got broken along the way. Olivia has a little bit of damage to her orange polk-a-dot bow but, considering I have celebrated my 39th birthday a couple of times already, I'm really pleased that I still have two of my little bears after all these years!
The little tea set is one I picked up at a garage sale this past weekend. I've been wanting a wee tea set for a while now and was so happy to come across it - and happy to purchase a lovely Royal Winton plate at the same sale for only a dollar! Perhaps it will be featured in one of my Tea Time Tuesday vignettes in the future.
I bet you had fun taking those photos? LOL I absolutely love it - well done
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little bears - and what a lovely tea set you found. It really takes me back to the china tea set my sister and I had as children - I seem to remember we didn't dare to play with it much though for fear of breaking a piece!
ReplyDeleteloved your post very warm it's good to have items such as the bears that have special meaning. have a good day.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that brings back so many memories. I had tea sets as a child, and I bought my daughter a few of them as she was growing up. I'm still a big tea drinker now... go figure! Very sweet photos and a nice cheery post!

Very cute. That little bear with the radish is funny - as my Dad used to say "his eyes are bigger than his tummy".
ReplyDeleteYour tiny tea cup set is adorable!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute post, as well as sentimental. Thank you so much for sharing this with us today!

Well, I just love your little tea party today! Those little bears are so cute and how wonderful they are a part of your childhood! The tea set is darling and I so enjoyed reading your post! It brought back memories of tea parties with my dolls many years ago. Thanks for sharing and for participating in Tea Time with me. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
What sweet little bears! Though I admit, anything with a teddy bear is automatically my favorite thing. (We pulled an unmarked box out of our attic this week, thinking whatever was inside could easily be thrown away, only to discover it was all of my childhood teddy bears! The rest of the afternoon was lost to fond memories.) And that tea set is adorable. I'd be afraid to have anything that small - my clumsy fingers would surely break it.
ReplyDeleteYes love your tea party!

Thank you for stoping by my blog. You almost made me cry, I used to sing the Teddy Bear Picnic song to our grandbaby, then we moved away and I hardly ever see her, it has been over a year now! Loved your little bears picnic story. And WOW what a transformation to your porch, cute space, perfect place for a bit of tea.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! And creative photography too.
ReplyDeleteA teddy bear's picnic tea party - you put this together in such a cute way. Always nice to see a different spin on having tea.
ReplyDeleteI remember collecting little ceramic animals that I think came in boxes of tea..many moons ago but I don't have one at all.
Hi Ro! Tea was great fun today, and I'm so glad I stopped by! I'm with the bears about radishes though. I MUCH prefer blueberries!!.. Have a nice evening, and can't wait to see your new plate! ~tina
